NAIFA’s Lifetime Healthcare Center is presenting “The Peak 65 Series: Impact Day for Lifetime Healthcare,” a one-day virtual event, November 19, beginning at 11 am eastern. It features a dozen 20-minute TED Talk-like presentations covering timely topics on the financial implications of longevity and aging. Presenters include recognized thought leaders offering insights on long-term care, disability income, hybrid insurance products, Medicare, federal and state legislative and regulatory considerations, and more.

Peak 65 refers to the period from 2024 to 2027 when an unprecedented number of Americans celebrate their 65th birthdays. For financial professionals, Peak 65 is a defining moment in clients’ financial lives, as for many it marks a major transition into retirement. The role of financial professionals is crucial in helping clients navigate complex issues such as limited and long-term care, healthcare costs and Medicare, disability income, Social Security, lifelong income needs, and estate planning. To understand the opportunities and challenges presented by Peak 65, financial professionals must stay informed on demographic trends and adjust their services to meet the growing needs of an aging population

The Impact Day event is hosted by Carroll Golden, CLU, ChFC, CLTC, CASL, LACP, FLMI, Executive Director of NAIFA's Centers of Excellence and author of several books on the financial aspects of caregiving, including How Not to Pull Your Life Apart Caregiving. Presenters scheduled to appear include:

“Impact Day this year is the perfect introduction to NAIFA’S newly refreshed Lifetime Healthcare Center,” said Golden. “Presented during Long-Term Care Awareness Month, we’re tackling the real financial challenges that an aging population and their financial professionals face today, with a strong focus on proactive planning. It’s about being better prepared for what lies ahead, making sure agents and advisors have the expertise they need to help clients face these challenges before they even arise. It’s an impressive lineup of presenters who bring serious knowledge and insights – the kind you need to stay ahead and navigate the complexities of long-term care issues and really make a difference in your clients’ and their families’ lives.”

NAIFA’s Life Happens Community will debut a new Real Life Story featuring NAIFA President-Elect Christopher Gandy, LACP, and a client of his during Impact Day. Real Life Stories are short videos featuring real financial professionals and their clients that illustrate the important role life insurance, disability income insurance, long-term care insurance, and annuities play in alleviating American families’ financial burdens during difficult times. As a NAIFA Community, Life Happens educates the public and policymakers and provides NAIFA members with content they can use to further spread the word about important risk-protection products.

The Lifetime Healthcare Center (LHC), one of NAIFA’s three Centers of Excellence, is a community of professionals with expertise in limited and extended care, Medicare, small group health insurance, and other areas. LHC participants have direct access to industry leaders who share knowledge and best practices in this increasingly challenging and changing marketplace. The LHC Legislative Working Group provides a strong advocacy voice for financial professionals, consumers, companies, and the industry. Its members engage directly with state and federal policymakers and draw on NAIFA’s grassroots strength to advocate on issues important to LHC participants.

Registration for “The Peak 65 Series: Impact Day for Lifetime Healthcare” is now open online to all financial professionals and other interested parties.
